Engagement :: Christina & Alex

Yesterday, I shot an engagement session for Christina & Alex. I looked at the weather earlier in the week, and thought that we would be battling storms, but we were blessed with a fantastic day (and thankfully a decently warm one, unlike today, which was absolutely freezing!).
After stopping for a relaxing tea break at Argo, we wandered around Lakeview for a bit, did some shots on a rooftop, and then went down to the lake. They were wonderful sports, and we had a fantastic time shooting. It is wonderful to work with a couple that is participatory and creative; there were some poses they did that were so fantastic and unique, and they came with them unprompted! We shot an incredible number of photographs, many more than I realized, so I had a slew of initial favorites.
Love you both and can’t wait for the wedding (and the shower…and the bachelorette party!).
A nice classic one to warm up, taken on a stoop near Argo:
Then we walked around the neighborhood, where crafty Christina found some gates that opened:

One of my favourites of the day:

And here’s an example of how creative they were. They just whipped out this pose on their own!

Anyone that knows my photography knows shoes/feet are one of my favourite subjects. A photo like this is a perfect example of why I find them so great to shoot:

Awesome lighting on the roof.

We wanted to go to the beach, so we spent some time (okay, a lot of time) waiting for the bus. We eventually had to take a cab (thanks, CTA!), but we snuck in some more during the wait:

Finally, beach!
Alex’s idea (and thanks to the biker and runner for the fortuitous framing)
