Meag + Nick’s Chicago Engagement Connection Session

I’ve had a somewhat unusually high number of clients from out of town this year (and it looks like that might be a trend for 2010, too). I always do a phone consultation, so we can get a better idea about how our personalities will mesh, but it’s always still such an interesting treat to be able to meet a couple for the first time at a connection session. Although Meagan and Nick met while in optometry school in Chicago, they now live out in Colorado, but were able to make it back to the city for a weekend of wedding planning and photographing. While they considered some of the top venues in downtown Chicago, they ended up electing to have their fall wedding at a venue that felt more “them,” The Onion Pub in the suburbs. Sounds like an interesting choice, but with beautiful windows, loads of natural light and a brewery on site, I can’t wait for a new, unique venue to add to my list. Meag and Nick are such a wonderful couple—both very kind, fun, down-to-earth, and we had such a blast shooting their very early morning engagement session around my loft. Here are a few of my favourites.
