Indie Wed + Ticket Giveaway

Have you heard of Indie Wed? It is a new kind of wedding show for Chicago couples who are searching for unique vendors with more of a modern or vintage sensibility. This is not your old-school, tacky, sales-pitchy, big white cupcake dress wedding show. Instead it’s comprised of hand-picked vendors who really strive to bring something different to the wedding scene. I talked to several of my clients this year who stopped by last year, and all of them only had the best things to say about the show.
If you’re hoping to find some great ideas for your 2011 or 2012 wedding, this is a great one-stop event where you can find great options in all categories. Whether you’re doing quick planning and searching for all the big category vendors or even if you’ve completed most of your wedding plans but are just searching for the perfect accessory, I’d recommend stopping by.Joel and I will be sharing a booth at this year’s event, held on January 29, and the oh-so-cool Ravenswood Event Center. We’ve been working on our booth plan, and if it all comes together, we think it will be quite a fun experience. We hope you can stop by and say hi!

Ask the Experts at Smitten Boutique next Thursday! (Champagne + cupcakes + discounts)

I was so excited to be asked to participate in a wonderful little event next Thursday at Smitten Boutique, an adorable wedding shop in the West Loop. I will be joining the fabulous Renee Price of Kehoe Designs—whom I worked with on the MCA wedding—for an hour or two of inspiration, celebration and specials for brides. Smitten always has beautiful, inspirational window displays, the Renee and Kehoe will be pulling together a new window look that will be unveiled on Thursday, December 3. She will also be doing an incredibly creative cupcake presentation featuring cupcakes from Foiled. Brides to be are invited to stop by from 5:30-6:30 to view these fabulous designs, take a peek at my photography, and also ask us questions you might have about your wedding photography or event design or floral arrangements. We will also both be offering certificates for significant discounts on event design, or in my case, boudoir photography and wedding collections for new clients. Please stop by, meet us, see Renee’s beautiful work, enjoy a treat and pick up a certificate if you are planning a 2010 wedding. Please note that you definitely do not need to be one of my clients for next year—if you are still searching for a photographer, event designer or florist, it would be a great chance to have an initial meet and see more of my work, and I imagine the boudoir specials might be loved by many!
